Why is mat Pilates so beneficial?

Why is mat Pilates so beneficial?

Pilates is a whole body fitness.

Pilates teaches the body how to work as an integrated whole.

Pilates is adaptable to all fitness levels and needs.

Whether you are a senior citizen, a new mom, or a highschool student, Pilates has modifications and props for every individual.

Creates stength without bulk.

Pilates builds long lean muscle, not those big body builder type muscles for show. If you practice Pilates on a regular basis, it will change your body. One of the fascinating results of Pilates is a longer and leaner look.

Increases Flexibility and better posture

Pilates also is very important for athletes.

Athletes use concepts from Pilates to improve their performance on the field. From runners to golfers, tennis players to baseball players, most of these athletes who have begun taking Pilates say they have seen improvements in their range of motion, flexibility, circulation, posture, and abdominal strength. Also, adding to that list, they have a decrease in back, joint, and neck pain.

What to do your first time Spinning

New Spin Rider Information

Spinning has a different effect on people but for everyone it is a highly aerobic activity that also provides both upper and lower body conditioning. It is a program designed where the very beginner can ride next to the most advanced Spinner and depending upon your exertion level you can expect to burn from 500 to well over 1,000 calories in a one hour ride maintaining your own pace. But to most it goes beyond conditioning and aerobic exercise. Spinning or the Spin program was created by an endurance cyclist who wanted to create profiles he would experience on the road while he was riding an indoor bike with a similar geometry, drive train and feel as a competitive road bike.  Spinning has developed into more than a workout it is a form of art it is rhythm, group effort, a shared pain, shared gain, a time to focus, a time to prepare or a time to clear one's thoughts and escape.  Pinecrest Fitness located in Miami, provides an environment for Spinning to be more than just a good workout - we think you will see the Pinecrest Fitness difference when you visit.  Feel free to pick a class that fits your schedule because the classes are designed such that any level rider can participate and benefit from any class level safely. We will explain how that works when you come in for your first visit, our friendly knowledgeable staff are all trained to fit you on your bike .By far the most important thing you can do to make your first ride the best experience possible is to get to Pinecrest Fitness at least 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled class time and let us know right away that you are a first time Pinecrest Fitness Spinner. Doing so will provide you with time to read over our liability agreement and, more importantly, give the instructors a chance to familiarize you with the studio, explain the style of riding we do, get you set up on a bike and go over bike safety. Next be sure to bring the proper gear to class such as:

Water - something like a 24oz sports-bottle is perfect. We do sell water if you would rather purchase it at the Pinecrest Fitness Gym.

Towel - a gym towel (20" x 30") works perfectly. At Pinecrest Fitness we provide a towel service free of charge

Spinning Shoes - bike shoes with SPD pedal clips - If you do not have shoes that is no problem as we can fit you on the bike with regular athletic shoes, please be aware that you will gain more advantage of a Spin workout by using proper cycling shoes with SPD clips by using a complete pedal stroke.

Ear Plugs - Depending how close you are to a speaker the music can sometimes be loud. If you would prefer to take the edge off the sound level or have sensitive hearing please bring ear plugs. Many of our riders wear them as a matter of routine and we recommend you consider doing so as a precaution.

Proper Attire- please do not wear pants with loose bottoms such as a “bell bottom” look as they may get caught in pedals, denim is not allowed as it damages the seats on the Spin Bike, Cycling or tri  lycra type shorts are the ideal solution for a very comfortable workout, enjoy!

Spinning classes vs. Indoor cycling in South Miami, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Miami FL, Pinecrest FL, The Falls, Dadeland

Spinning classes vs. Indoor cycling
Spinning classes vs. Indoor cycling is a hot topic. That's simply because spinning and indoor cycling share much similarities but are far from the same thing Some might say that a big difference between the two is that Spinning does not introduce gimmicks into their bikes or program only science.  Spinning, Spin, Spinner is a registered trademark name that is owned by Mad Dogg athletics.  In order to use this logo for your business, you must adhere to the protocol set forth by Mad Dogg athletics.  Facilities that would like to use the term Spinning, Spin or Spinner and the  trademarked logo must use the Mad Dogg approved cycle which started with the Schwinn brand to today's Spin bikes that are manufactured by Star Trac.  Pinecrest Fitness adheres to all these requirements and has been since it's inception 14 years ago in the Village of Pinecrest.

Real riders Spinning keeps indoor cycling safe and fun

Spinning was created by cyclist Jonnny G who came up with a plan to spend a more time at home with his family while training for long distance bike races.  The basic principle was simple, do exactly what you do on the indoor bicycle as you would do on your road bike. A chain driven bicycle with the geometry and "feel". of a road bike was created along with a program design that consisted of basic hand positions and class profiles that mirrored imaged "real life". courses that one can encounter on the road. The Spin program was born and a safe fun alternative to riding indoors rather than on the road was born.  The Spin program has survived many years and will continue to do so because it is a form of group exercise that is unique to all others. With  a properly designed Spin program of classes, such as the ones we offer at our Pinecrest Fitness facility, you will find that the whole class will be together doing there own individual ride, allow me to explain.  The most advanced Spin rider can sit next to a person who has never taken any type of exercise class.  When you are in a  Spin class you control how much resistance you want, not the instructor.  You will decide what kind of speed you feel comfortable with without going excessively fast or slow and you can get up and get down as you please.  Lately pressure from the fitness industry introducing new flashy class titles and gimmicks in all the different forms of group fitness many instructors and facilities have sold out the Spin program and have chosen to teach their classes with dangerous movements and gimmicks.  The instructors and facilities that allow this dangerous behavior are forced to call these classes and programs indoor cycling and not use the terms Spin, Spinning and Spinne and may not use the trade mark Spin logo.  Some indoor cycle programs have created bikes that move side to side, which never happens on a bicycle unless your about to crash.  You will also notice that cyclists always keep their hands on the handles at all times with the exception of retrieving their hydration, nutrition or bracing for a crash. Facitlies now are starting programs where weights, bands and upper body workouts are being introduced while you are pedalling with no evidence whatsoever on any benefit and plenty of evidence of danger of this kind of practice. When choosing a safe indoor cycling name look for the Spin logo and feel comfortable knowing that youu will experience a safe effective fat burning workout.

Fat Loss and Personal Training in South Miami, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Miami FL, Pinecrest, The Falls, Dadeland

Fat Loss and Personal Training
Personal trainers specialize in a variety of areas with one of the most popular areas being fat loss. Fat loss and personal training have always been the perfect combination for people trying to get into shape with certain requirements. Those requirements could be anything from being UN motivated to finding it hard to go about fat loss alone. Personal trainers use many methods physically challenging and mentally to get an individual to do what must be done.

Some of the things personal training for fat loss might include are strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, support and accountability, and nutritional guidance. There are different reasons for each but they all have major roles in the individual successfully obtaining goals. Most people find it better to work with personal trainers because what they are trying to achieve can be done much quicker through the things listed above.

Strength Training Involved In Fat Loss and Personal Training
During strength training the individual is building muscle. The muscles go through a phase where they become metabolically active. That means the body is getting a boost when muscles are added allowing you to burn calories even while sleeping.

Personal trainers are also experts in being able to spot weak areas of one's body and emphasize certain body parts. During strength training the workouts performed should challenge all major groups of muscle. Personal trainers will normally design a program where the individual is started out slow but as they grow stronger it gets more challenging.

Cardiovascular Training Is Where Things Heat Up a Lot More
The cardiovascular conditioning stage should be done in conjunction with the strength training. Things that go on during the cardiovascular conditioning stage might include the use of treadmills, aerobics classes, stationary bikes, and elliptical classes. Many might also include interval training that varies the intensity of the workouts.

Your individual cardio program would be based on several things like time availability, health condition, current fitness level, or even whether you have had a background in exercising at all. This part of fat loss and personal training can be extremely effective. Relax, it's also a fun part of the fat loss program.

You Can't Go Wrong When You Have the Support of Your Personal Trainer
Support and accountability is a normal part of personal training in all areas. They provide the means through motivational speeches and caring for a person to push through even the hardest of times while still maintaining a successful mind state towards achieving their fitness goals. This is the usually the thing most individuals will need for permanent weight loss capability and leading a healthy lifestyle which brings us to the nutritional guidance part of personal training and fat loss.
Healthy eating should be practiced throughout any training programs that involve exercise and weight loss. If a person were not to practice healthy dieting and nutrition all the effort put towards ridding the fat and shedding the pounds would be a complete waste of time. There are many online websites for calorie counting that will provide information your personal trainer may need to help you come up with a great dieting plan that won't include starving yourself.

When you put all the things above together they equal that successful outcome you're looking for. You have part of the program set up to give you exercise, motivation, and recommendation on dieting, nutrition, and practicing living a healthy lifestyle. When you follow those things as an individual you will feel better, look better physically and create a much healthier state of mind.
